To make this easier, cleaner, and more powerful, we're introducing Rich Prompt Formatting — a new way to write prompts using Markdown directly inside the Syllable Console.
With headings, bold text, lists, and structured sections, you can now organize complex instructions with far more clarity. Better structure doesn't just help humans — it consistently improves LLM performance too.
Why Markdown Formatting Matters
Large prompts can quickly become hard to read. Important rules blend into long paragraphs, tool instructions get buried, and updating logic becomes risky and error-prone. Rich formatting solves that.
Markdown support lets you:
- Create cleaner, more readable prompts — Use headings, bullet points, bold text, and separators to give structure to complex instructions.
- Insert tools as dynamic variables — Directly embed tools and data sources into your prompt using variable syntax, keeping everything flexible and up to date.
- Organize multi-step logic with ease — Break out sections for behavior guidelines, safety constraints, tool usage rules, tone preferences, and edge-case handling.
### How It Works
- Log in to the Syllable Console
- Navigate to Prompts and select the prompt you want to edit
- Start typing — the formatting toolbar appears automatically
- Add headings, lists, bold text, and variables directly into the prompt
- Save your updates and check the Version History to see your Markdown-rendered structure
